Are you bored of television and series? Do you want to appear cultured and sophisticated to colleagues, family and friends? Are you tired of having nothing interesting to say when people ask what you did with your weekend? Well, we have the answer for you!
Theatre has been around for a long time. Even longer than Karabo has been on Generations. Even longer than Brooke has been on The Bold and the Beautiful. It has survived centuries of war, famine, empires, colonies, Facebook, Twitter, Nkandla, and South African rappers sounding American. But there are few who attend theatrical performances. This is why we are starting the Empty Bucket Theatre Society.
This is how it will work for now: Once a month, a show at a theatre in the city of Johannesburg, South Africa, will be chosen by nomination, and voting (or just nomination if there is only one nominated). From here, those interested will buy their tickets to attend the show (maybe in future there can be group bookings, but for now the handling of money is too much admin). Afterwards, there will be discussion over a beverage of the attendant’s choice, followed by a short write-up on the production by a volunteer who attended.
